Different day, different story. Reports have now surfaced that if the Rangers sign Yu Darvish, they will be unlikely to go after Prince Fielder. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? In the days prior to Darvish’s posting, a story surfaced that the Rangers were unlikely to go after either player due to construction and Greenberg-settlement costs. Remember when Jon Daniels stressed that his primary goal was to focus on players currently in the organization? While some teams have a mole within their organizations, the Rangers appear to have a troll who leaks stories to improve their bargaining position.

In short, I don’t believe the reports.
