ESPN Baseball Today

Description:

Hosts Eric Karabell, Keith Law and Mark Simon deliver the latest news, views, power rankings and stats from the world of Major League Baseball.

Review:

I listen to most episodes of Baseball Today, and hate myself for doing so. The podcast runs daily throughout the regular season, post season, and sporadically during the offseason. Karabell hosts nearly every show, with Law, Simon, and David Schoenfeld alternating co-hosting duties. Karabell does a good job and Law provides insightful analysis.

There tends to be an over-emphasis on East Coast teams. After all, this is an ESPN podcast. Also, too much nerdery for my taste.

The Baseball Today podcast is hosted by Eric Karabell, Keith Law, and Mark Simon.

Baseball Prospectus: Up & In Podcast

Every week, Kevin Goldstein and Jason Parks look at the week in baseball, discussing current news, dissecting one big issue, and at times going off on tangents and discussing movies, film, books, or art for extended periods of time.

Review:

There’s really no question. This is the best baseball podcast out there. Kevin Goldstein and Jason Parks do a phenomenal job hosting, and bring a down to earth, but deep knowledge of scouting to the podcast every week. They only record once a week, but most episodes last North of two hours.

The Baseball Show with Rany and Joe

Description:

Longtime friends Rany Jazayerli and Joe Sheehan talk about the week in baseball.

Review:

Rany Jazayerli is a co-founder of Baseball Prospectus, and writes about the Royals at RanyontheRoyals.com. Joe Sheehan is a writer for BP and Sports Illustrated. In case you didn’t know, Baseball Prospectus = Good. And SI ain’t so bad either. Their pedigrees come across on the podcast as the duo offers insightful analysis. Great podcast. Only problem is the infrequency of recordings.
