54 Responses to MLB Free Agents 2012-2013

  1. Jordan Welsh says:

I Hope the rays don’t sign Upton he has not been worth his.salary I am a rays fan and want them to sigh a good quality catcher like persinski or Ruiz.i think they will loose James shields to the free agency I want them to sighn peavy

    • Jordan England says:

I am an Indians fan and with where the team sits going into this offseason, I think the positions we need to complete are Starting Pitching, First Base, and Left Field unless Choo leaves uus then we need a Right Fielder too. Some of the guys out there could be Colby Lewis or Kyyle Lohse, maybe James Loney, or Andre Eithier. Who knows? Also keep Sandy Alomar Jr. The manager.

      • J'Dinkalige Morgoone says:

Colby Signed an extension with Texas a while back

      • Peter says:

Honestly I would think as a red sox fan myself that Francona is a pretty major upgrade at manager. He has two rings and he’s been thru the wars and won them. And no you absolutely don’t want James Loney. He sucks. Pronk is better lol. A lot better

      • Michael Kinsey says:

You can have loney. As a redsox fan im more than satisfied with.napoli
Please take loney off out hands.

  2. Tom Scott says:

The Phillies need to sign B.J. Upton, Kevin Youkilis, Pitchers Mike Adams, Brandon Lyon and one of the following Gavin Floyd,Anibal Sanchez and Shaun Marcum. Then trade the following Kyle Kendrick, John Mayberry.

  3. Alfonso says:

Update your list, ethier is no free agent till 5 years from now

  4. curt says:

I would like to see the Orioles get James Shields and Zack Greinke , a middle of the order bat . I also hope they resign Reynolds . They don’t need much .

  5. Dave Gentile Jr says:

I am a huge Phillies fan. I would love to get Upton I think his potential will come out if he came here. One reason he will have fans to play in front of. I would like to sign reliever Madison and try and trade for David Wright.if we do all this its a guaranteed championship team.

  6. gnor says:

In the interests of accuracy, both Casey Janssen and Dustin McGowan have signed contract extensions. Kelly Johnson should be added to the list of second basemen.

  7. bill says:

The o’s should sign Curtis granderson and bj upton

  8. Christian says:

I have a feeling Upton ends up with the Red Sox (trade Ellsbury) or Yankees (let Granderson walk). By the way Carlos Quentin signed a contract extension with the Padres in August.

  9. Christian says:

Hudson Street also resigned with the Padres.

  10. Spotts says:

I think D-Backs should trade Chris Young for a prospect . Use the leftover money from all the moves that Kevin Towers has done and use it on big-time starter like Cole Hamels, sign B.J.
Upton, and a great third baseman like David Wright. Signing BJ would make Justin Upton and BJ Upton play a lot better. Obviously Kevin Towers has been saving up for something big.
    HUGE dbacks fan

  11. JulsZuz says:

How about Nate McLouth as an OF Free Agent?

I hope he remains with the O’s.

  12. Ricardo says:

The Yankees should trade a-rod for David Wright and a good starter pitcher like R.A Dickey

  13. Magic says:

Id love to see the Yankees sign Michael Bourn, trade Grandy for a young prospect and take a flyer on Grady Sizemore.

  14. james says:

Braves fan here!!! They should trade pitching prospect for Justin Upton for LF and sign Angel Pagan to CF or even sign Justin Upton and have the Upton brothers in ATL !!!

  15. Mike says:

Reds fan here. I’m old school from way back when players played for the love of the game. Any way, we had one of the best teams in baseball this year, but couldn’t get it done. We have great young arms, defense was above average and I could only say this, if we were lacking in one area, I would have to say that they are lacking the one big hitter that teams would not like to face, an impact player, team player. So with that, that’s my rant.

  16. pj colston says:

Go tigers!! Id love to see the tigers sign bj upton. Keep quintin berry and avisail garcia on the bench. Keep dirks in right field, upton in left, jackson in center. Maybe keep infante and peralta becuz next year we’ll have vv-mart back and we’ll be set. Also maybe shop porcello and boesch for a pitcher or try to sign sheilds or haren becuz we’ll have sanchez back to complete rotation. And of course del.young will be gone. Great line-up great pitching rotation, a good championship team!!!!

  17. Justin says:

Im a huge redsox fan. I’m so glad valentine got fired! I say the redsox should sign Johnny peralta to play SS or start ciriaco. They should sign Hamilton to play lf. At 1b either swisher or Napoli. For pitching start de la rosa( from trade) and sign either anibal Sanchez grenkie shields or kuroda. Id mostly like sanchez and kuroda. Keep ellsbury and resign Ross and Ortiz. They have a great bullpen and I think broxton would make it even better.

    1b swisher/Napoli
    2b pedroia
    SS peralta/ ciriaco
    3b middlebrooks
    Lf Hamilton
    Cf ellsbury
    Rf Ross
    Dh Ortiz
    C salti

Bench Gomez posednick sands lavarnway Lin

Sp Lester buccholz sanchez de la rosa kuroda
Bp atchison aceves bard baily broxton c. Carpenter doubront hill tazawa breslow morales miller

    • Justin says:

I’d actually like the rotation to be Lester buccholz grenkie de la rosa kuroda. I also wouldn’t mind anibal Sanchez shields or Dempster. if Hamilton is too expensive for the redsox then I think they should either move Ross to lf and have swisher play rf sign upton hunter or Bourne or trade 3 minor leaguers to orioles for Chris Davis or nick markakis sign Padilla and have him start the year in AAA and call him up if someone gets hurt. Same with mortenson. Iglesias Kalish should also go back to AAA. DONT RESIGN MELANCON! DON’T SIGN ERVIN SANTANA OR JOHNATHAN SANCHEZ. They both stink!

      • Justin says:

Lin got claimed by the Astros and posednick is getting old so the bench should actully be sands nava Gomez lavarnway iglesias

  18. Bear says:

Cards fan. I really like our rotation but we’re just so injury plagued. I think we need a new SS and a good Center Fielder like Bourn. And maybe a left fielder because I honestly don’t think Holiday is worth a crap for the money we pay him.

    • Robby says:

I personally think you guys should keep Jay in center, trade Holliday for a SS, and sign Delmon Young and put him in left

  19. huge cardinals fan says:

we are def losing berkman and lohse so with that said, we have wainwright, carp, garcia, so we need zach geinke and dan haren then we would have the top starting pitching staff. we need mike adams and a lefty for the bullpen then thats set. we have 4 futrue hall of fame fielders furcal, beltran, holliday and molina so all we need is a second baseman cano. we have jay CF and craig first base with that said and the pieces i mention then can u say champs

  20. nick tarorick says:

I think Giants should sign Bourn for CF and resign Sanchez for 2B.The Indians should sign Greinke and Loney.I think Indians are on the way to winning again!

  21. I am a huge die hard Yankee fan I would love to see dia rotation. 1. CC sabathia. 2.Zack grenkee. 3. Michael pineida 4.phil hughes.5.Andy pettitte. And 1. base mark texiera 2. base Robinson Canon.short stop dereck meter 3.base David wright. Center field Curtis granderson .right field ichiro Suzuki.left field.melky Cabrera. D.h. Alex rodrigez

  22. Goo Rangers!!! says:

I’m one of the biggest Ranger Fans U can find…I would love to have Zack Grenkie, Colby Lewis, Derek Holland, Yu Darvish, and Matt Harrison in the Starting Rotation. Have Kinsler, Andrus, Beltre, Moreland, Cruz, Murphy, Napoli/J.P.Arencibia, Hamilton/BJUpton. With that, we are in the making of a Championship Team!

  23. Robby says:

I’m a big Yanks fan and I think we need to resign Kuroda for another yr or two, try to sign Greinke, and get Inge so we can have a consistent man at 3rd and a chance to trade A-Rod for prospect(s). Then use the money from the A-rod trade (and not resigning Ichiro) to sign Josh Hamilton, then Delmon Young, or resign Ibanez. That would make us look like this(at best):

    Gardner, LF
    Granderson, CF
    Hamilton, RF
    Tex, 1B
    Cano, 2B
    Ibanez, DH
    Jeter, SS
    Inge, 3B
    Martin, C

Rotation (assuming Pineda is still hurt):

    • Eric says:

even for the yankees what your saying is stretching it real far. Look at what players you said they should get:

Delmon Young, Josh Hamilton, Brandon Inge, Zach Greinke and then Ibanez is gonna want more money since he proved to the team he deserves it. Then bringing kuroda back? All that money spent will make the yankees plunder

  24. Moose says:

I think James shields is going to the Red Sox and Zach greinke is going to go the the tigers. Also I think that Mike Napoli is going to sign with the rangers and josh Hamilton will go to the dodgers. Granderson is going to stay with the yanks. Nick swisher is gonna go the the D-Backs.

Michael Bourn is going to stay we’re he is.

  26. Eric says:

As an O’s fan I was soooo happy with last season. We got a CF,RF,SS,3B,C,and Bullpen. We need to update our starting rotation. They were in and out of injuries last year and I think, if they weren’t, we could of done even better, but I’m not upset one bit. LF field wise, Cody Ross would be ehh but I wish we would sign McClouth back. Starting pitching, I’d offer Loshe or Brandon McCarthy. It’s also a looooong shot but baltimore radios are talking trade with the rangers invloving ian kinsler and our pitching prospect Schoop. Hope it happens, probably won’t, o well. I’m just glad to be talking about baseball again.

  27. Eric says:

Plus if we sign reynolds back, who I can’t stand, it still adds somewhat of depth to the lineup. So we really don’t need to go balls out in the offseason. Here’s what my lineup/rotation, as an os fan hopes to see

    OF: Jones, Markakis, McClouth
    IF: Davis, Kinsler, Hardy, Machado
    C: Wieters, Teagarden (aka mr.clutch .120)
Starters: Loshe, Tillman, Hammels, Gonzalez, S. johnson
Bullpen: Oday, J. Johnson, Strop, Patton, Kyle Farnsworth

Bench: reynolds, andino, xavier avery, Kevin YOU-KILL-US (He always smashed the o’s so thats what we call him), and maybe someone else

  28. Terra says:

Big pirates fan think we should sign a veteran catcher
Like Pierzienski or Napoli and trade for Justin Upton
Also sign Dan Haren and were set hers what they
    Got CF:Cutch,RF:Upton,LF:Marte,1B:Jones,2B Walker
,I think u move Holt to Short El toro at 3rd
A catcher that I mentioned and a starting rotation of
    Bench Mckenry,Sanchez,Barmes,Presley or Tabata
and there you go were set

  29. nate says:

I think giants resign Pagan and Sanchez.I also think Indians should sign Loney and keep Choo. The Giants are still world series contenders.I think there lineup should be:CF Pagan 2B Sanchez 3B Sadoval C Posey RF Pence. 1B Belt

  30. Lance Urbi says:

Not many Cubs fans commenting on here. I know, there’s a lot of work to be done here on the North Side. That said, I think the Brain Trust should non-tender Ian Stewart, resign him to a minor deal, then look at maybe Brandon Inge on a one year deal. The OF, well, Victorino would be a nice piece moving forward, but realistically, maybe re-sign Reed Johnson. We need to score big @ the draft. There’s always next…um well, 2015. Go Cubs!

  31. JENNIFER says:

GIANTS FAN….We need to get rid of Sanchez, Theriot, Wilson and bring in some new younger players. I’d love to get rid of Lincecum if he was up for grabs. Depends who will be up for free agency to fill those spots.

  32. Obed says:

How bout them marlins??? LMAO! im an embarresed marlins fan…

  33. gino says:

Every Christmas the Yankees always sign a big name and it boosts merchandise sales for the holidays. That means either the Yankees are getting Greinke or Hamilton and with their struggling bats I’m leaning 110% they definitely sign Joey Hamilton especially with A-Rod injured now.

  34. nick says:

Swisher going to tribe,I hope Bourn goes to Seattle.Indians are going to be good!Indians lineup should be real good.I think they’ll take the wildcard,I’m a Indians fan.The lineup should look like this-

    2.2B KIPNIS
